Permanent storm protection for windows, patios, lanais, walkways and selected commercial openings.
Atlas Armor fixed fabric hurricane panels provide permanent, lightweight protection for windows, patios, lanais, walkways and selected commercial openings. Available in three-sided and four-sided configurations, each system is matched to the opening, required design pressures, supporting structure and applicable product approvals.
Because the screen stays in place, there are no heavy panels to carry or store when a storm approaches. The woven fabric also helps preserve natural light and visibility while creating a protective barrier against windborne debris.
A fixed fabric hurricane panel is a permanently installed screen system designed to help protect an opening from windborne debris during severe weather. The fabric is secured within tracks so it remains ready throughout hurricane season.
Atlas Armor systems use OmegaTex™ fabric made with polyester and DuPont™ Kevlar® fibers. The fabric, tracks, anchors and attachment method work as one system, so correct sizing and installation are essential.
The right layout depends on the opening, daily use and engineering requirements.
An installer should confirm opening size, substrate, fasteners, design pressures and approval documents. Compare our roll-down hurricane screens and removable fabric panels.
Atlas Armor backs eligible hurricane screen systems with its Wind Shield Warranty. Coverage, exclusions and claim requirements are governed by the written warranty in effect for the product and installation.

Using Atlas Armor Hurricane Fixed Fabric Panels offers numerous benefits:
● Cost-Effective Protection: Fixed panels are less expensive than motorized screens, offering a budget-friendly solution for hurricane protection.
● 24/7 Readiness: Since these panels are permanently installed, they are always in place and ready to protect your property, eliminating the need for last-minute preparations when a storm is approaching.
● Multi-Purpose Use: In addition to hurricane protection, these panels also offer UV protection, insect control, and privacy during the day.
● Custom Fit: The panels can be tailored to fit any size or straight-sided shape of the opening, ensuring a perfect fit and maximum protection.
Atlas Armor Hurricane Fixed Fabric Panels have been successfully used in various applications. Here are some examples:
In one project, the panels created a sheltered walkway from a non-hurricane-rated production facility to a rated hurricane shelter. The top screens were secured with sidetracks on all four sides, providing full protection from the elements.
The panels were also used to enclose steps, with frames conforming to the slope of the stairs. This type of construction can be used to create secure areas such as open-topped air-conditioning units, shelters for boats or RVs, storage sheds, and
outdoor bulk supply storage. These units can also be built using our Miami-Dade, hurricane-rated, swing pedestrian doors to gain access to the enclosed area.
For homes with closely situated buildings, the panels can be mounted over side openings of patios to provide privacy and hurricane protection. For instance, a roll-down hurricane screen was fitted on the front patio opening for easy access. In contrast, a fixed 4-sided screen was installed on the side opening for permanent protection and privacy.
Hurricane protection should be selected for the exact building and opening. Design pressure measures the wind load a component must withstand and varies with building height, location, exposure and opening size. A product approval does not mean every size or attachment method works for every property.
Review the system’s testing and approval information, then have a qualified professional confirm the approved configuration, anchors and supporting structure. The installer should also verify local permit requirements.
To ensure optimal performance and protection, it is recommended that the panels be professionally installed. This guarantees that they are securely attached and properly aligned.
These panels are designed to withstand the harshest conditions, so maintenance is minimal. Regular inspections and occasional cleaning are sufficient to keep them in top condition. Three gallons of water, a cup of household bleach, a ¼ cup of Dawn liquid detergent, and a soft sponge will keep your screen always looking and feeling like new.
Made from high-strength OmegaTex™ fabric (50% Polyester and 50% Dupont™ Kevlar®), these panels are highly durable, ease to clean, and can last many years, providing reliable protection season after season.
It is a permanently installed fabric screen system secured around an opening to help protect it from windborne debris during severe weather.
A three-sided panel is attached at the top and sides when the approved configuration allows the bottom to remain open. A four-sided panel is restrained around its complete perimeter.
Approval depends on the exact product, dimensions, attachment method, design pressures and installation. Confirm the approval documents and local permit requirements for the project.
No. Fixed panels remain installed, reducing storm preparation and eliminating seasonal panel storage.
A well-selected fixed panel can provide permanent storm readiness without requiring heavy rigid panels to be carried and stored. Atlas Armor can help identify the appropriate screen type and the information needed to evaluate the opening.
